How Some Hornets Do Easter


Easter is a very important and old festival celebrated by the Christian church . Easter day is the day Jesus was resurrected. Kids and adults celebrate by cooking, enjoying Easter egg hunts and eating candy. It’s believed that Jesus Christ died for our sins in AD 30 - 36 . The day he was resurrected is Easter Sunday .

Easter is a day to gather with friends and family, and go to church. For Christians , Easter is a big deal. Christians believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, so it’s definitely a day to celebrate . It’s believed that Easter had its origins as a “pagan holiday”. A pagan holiday is basically a holiday way before Christianity. Easter is huge for people with religious beliefs .

Kids enjoy Easter. To kids , Easter is a day to get candy and gifts from the grown ups and go on Easter egg hunts. Families usually cook out and have a Easter dinner, so Easter is a positive and enjoyable holiday. Christians take Easter as a day to praise their God. Easter is on a Sunday which is one of the days that people go to church. Christ was resurrected on this day so Christians give him the celebration and rejoice he deserves. Parents have the role of buying the candy, cooking, going to church and hiding eggs for the kids and family, so everyone is positively affected by Easter .

After interviewing the head coach of Hillside’s basketball team Rashard Lee-Worthy, I learned that he celebrates Easter by “ spending time with his family and eating a lot of food “. He stated that his religion is Christianity and he celebrates the resurrection and goes to church. After interviewing UNC student Keeley Gay, I learned that she also spends time with family on Easter Sunday and that as a kid she used to get candy from the Easter bunny as well.

In conclusion , Easter is a holiday celebrated by Christians and other non-religious people in the US. Christians celebrate for the resurrection of Jesus Christ . Others use Easter as a day to spend time with family and have quality time with friends. Generally , people spend time with family, cookout, eat and have fun with family and friends in honor of Christ . Easter is a holiday that can be celebrated whether you have any religious beliefs or not.
