New Media Center Policies
The media center at Hhillside Hhigh school this year has changed this semester. You wanna know why? It changed to enable kids interact more.
The Hillside librarians are Ms. Nelda Caddell and Ms. Caroline Herbert. Our librarians monitor the students that come in to to work. Up to 15 to 20 students are there mostly when they have assignments that are due.
Wednesdays are busier than Fridays. “Kids just like coming during lunch,” said Ms. Herbert. It’s because the middle of the week. Kids at Hillside mostly come towards the end of the semester to either do make up work or work and projects.
Ms. Herbert goes around and greets and talks to the students to see how they doing or if they need help. Ms. Herbert been a librarian for going on 14 years and she likes it everyday because it is different.
The media center changed this semester was to try another process to see if it’s a more active place. Yes you still can check out books up to 3 books at a time.
1 or 2 groups not bad they sometimes get loud but calm down but if it’s a whole class working on a project it’s going to be a little rowdy. Also they have a new way of logging quick you just sign up for a lunch pass.
Fill out the google form for the lunch period you need at hillside website, and you will be added to the pass list for that day or scan the QR code to go directly to the sign up forms.
