Cash Money for College

Durham Public School scholarship foundation is giving us an opportunity to have an increased advantage in our education. They are offering us different scholarships that will be listed down below:

The Alan B. Teasley established this $3000 scholarship in the fall of 2006 in loving memory of his parents. It is for a student meeting the “first generation” criterion, which is that neither of the recipient’s parents have obtained a bachelor’s degree. Minimum 2.75 GPA is required. Requires acceptance into an accredited four-year college or university.

Mrs. Marion Miles established the Carlton G. Miles Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2009, in loving memory of her son. The scholarship is to be awarded to a senior planning to major in music or music education. The amount of scholarship will be $1,000. Minimum 2.75 GPA is required. Requires acceptance into an accredited college (i.e. two-year, four-year or community college) or university.

Friends and family established the Dale LaRee Stone Scholarship to honor a DPS female student who demonstrates the same respect for their community and enthusiasm for life as Dale LaRee Stone. Ths $1000 scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher and acceptance into a post-secondary institution.

The Rachel Lawrence Scholarship fund was established in honor of Mrs. Lawrence’s many years of service in the promotion of parent involvement. The scholarship is to be awarded to one senior in the Durham Public Schools System. Graduating seniors in each traditional senior high school in the Durham Public Schools System may apply for this special $3000 scholarship. The Rachel Lawrence Scholarship is for students who have demonstrated leadership and volunteer service in their school and community. Requires overall 3.00 GPA and acceptance into an accredited college or university or community college.
