An Interview with Joshua Suiter
Joshua Suiter is a senior at Hillside High School and was also the elected candidate for Mr. Hillside. He is a devoted member of the Hillside Theater Department. We sat down for an interview with Mr. Suiter and he gave some very notable answers. When asked whether he preferred performing in musical or plays, Suiter said he prefers plays because they involve all they involve singing and dancing in addition to acting. Suiter says his favorite play he's performed in is The Wiz because it was the first production in which he starred in the lead role. Suiter said he has made lifelong bonds in theater, specifically with Mr. Tabb, the head of the Theater Department, whom he said he loves like a dad. Suiter said he plans to pursue a career in acting because he believes that is his purpose, and why God put him here on Earth.
An interview with Mr. Tabb
Wendell Tabb is a devoted Theater Arts teacher at Hillside High school and is a major organizer when it come to the productions of plays. He also deals with other theater orientated tasks including field trips. During our interview with Mr. Tabb, we learned some of the important reasons why our teacher is devoted to theater and play productions and the messages he wishes to convey through it. From a young age Mr. Tabb was an avid participator in performing. Whether it was singing, dancing or acting, Mr. Tabb was performing in his earlier years at church. It wasn't until he was in high school that he realized his interest in the performing arts. Mr. Tabb finds most of his enjoyment from theater and drama is watching his students devote themselves to their work. His main goal is teaching his students that theater and life go hand in hand, with moments of life being compared to scenes in a play.
